SOMMAIRE
Le texte modifie la Loi sur le ministère des Travaux publics et des Services gouvernementaux afin d’exiger que le ministre puisse autoriser l’utilisation du bois ou de toute autre chose qui offre des avantages pour l’environnement dans l’élaboration des exigences relatives aux ouvrages publics.
SUMMARY
This enactment amends the Department of Public Works and Government Services Act to require that the Minister may, in developing requirements for public works, allow the use of wood or any other thing that achieves environmental benefits.

Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate and House of Commons of Canada, enacts as follows:
1 L’article 7 de la Loi sur le ministère des Travaux publics et des Services gouvernementaux est modifié par adjonction, après le paragraphe (1), de ce qui suit :
1 Section 7 of the Department of Public Works and Government Services Act is amended by adding the following after subsection (1):
Utilisation du bois
Use of wood
(1.1) Dans l’élaboration des exigences visant la construction, l’entretien ou la réparation d’ouvrages publics, de biens réels fédéraux ou d’immeubles fédéraux, le ministre tient compte de toute réduction potentielle des émissions de gaz à effet de serre et de tout autre avantage pour l’environnement et peut autoriser l’utilisation du bois ou de toute autre chose, notamment de matériel, de produits ou de ressources durables, qui offre pareil avantage.
(1.1) In developing requirements with respect to the construction, maintenance or repair of public works, federal real property or federal immovables, the Minister shall consider any reduction in greenhouse gas emissions and any other environmental benefits and may allow the use of wood or any other thing — including a material, product or sustainable resource — that achieves such benefits.
