SUMMARY
This enactment amends the Employment Insurance Act to remove the waiting period with respect to benefits paid to apprentices.

Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate and House of Commons of Canada, enacts as follows:
Sa Majesté, sur l’avis et avec le consentement du Sénat et de la Chambre des communes du Canada, édicte :

1. Section 13 of the Employment Insurance Act is renumbered as subsection 13(1) and is amended by adding the following:
1. L’article 13 de la Loi sur l’assurance-emploi devient le paragraphe 13(1) et est modifié par adjonction de ce qui suit :
Exception
(2) The waiting period referred to in subsection (1) does not apply in respect of a claimant who is enrolled in an apprenticeship program.
(2) Le délai de carence visé au paragraphe (1) ne s’applique pas dans le cas où un prestataire est inscrit à un programme d'apprentissage.

2. Section 152.15 of the Act is renumbered as subsection 152.15(1) and is amended by adding the following:
2. L’article 152.15 de la même loi devient le paragraphe 152.15(1) et est modifié par adjonction de ce qui suit :

(2) The waiting period referred to in subsection (1) does not apply in respect of a self-employed person who is enrolled in an apprenticeship program.
(2) Le délai de carence visé au paragraphe (1) ne s’applique pas dans le cas où un travailleur indépendant est inscrit à un programme d'apprentissage.
