The Standing Joint Committee on the Library of Parliament met at 9:05 a.m. this day, in Room 112-N, Centre Block, the Joint Chairs, Carolyn Bennett and the Hon. Yves Morin, presiding.
Membes of the Committee present representing the Senate: the Hon. Jean Lapointe and the Hon. Yves Morin.
Members of the Committee present representing the House of Commons: Carolyn Bennett, Robert Bertrand, Rick Borotsik, Marlene Catterall, Marcel Gagnon, Deborah Grey, Grant Hill, Wendy Lill and Jacques Saada.
In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Lalita Acharya and James Robertson, Analysts.
Witnesses: From the Department of Public Works and Government Services: Paul Choquette, Director General, Services for Parliamentary Precinct; Mary Soper, Senior Project Leader, Planning and Capital Projects; Paul Frame, Project Manager. From the Library of Parliament: Lynn Brodie, Director, Collections Division.
Pursuant to the First Report of the Committee adopted by the Senate on April 3, 2003, and pursuant to House of Commons’ Standing Order 108(4)(a), a briefing session on the renovations at the Library of Parliament.
Paul Choquette and Lynn Brodie made a statement and, with the other witnesses, answered questions.
At 10:00 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
