An Act to amend the Canada Post Corporation Act (rural mail delivery)

1. The portion of subsection 5(2) of the Canada Post Corporation Act before paragraph (a) is replaced by the following:

2. (1) The following definitions apply in this section.

“approved location”, in respect of a rural mail box, means a location for the mail box that has been approved by the local postmaster in accordance with paragraph 15(b) of the Mail Receptacles Regulations.

“rural mail box” has the same meaning as in section 2 of the Mail Receptacles Regulations.

2. (1) Les définitions qui suivent s’appliquent au présent article.

« boîte aux lettres rurale » S’entend au sens de l'article 2 du Règlement sur les boîtes aux lettres.

« endroit approuvé » Emplacement approuvé par le maître de poste local pour l’installation d’une boîte aux lettres rurale conformément à l’alinéa 15b) du Règlement sur les boîtes aux lettres.

(2) The Governor in Council shall, within 60 days after this Act comes into force, amend the Mail Receptacles Regulations to provide that, if the Canada Post Corporation requires the owner of a rural mail box that is situated at an approved location to move the mail box to a different location, the Canada Post Corporation shall pay all the expenses associated with moving the mail box.

(2) Dans les soixante jours suivant l’entrée en vigueur de la présente loi, le gouverneur en conseil modifie le Règlement sur les boîtes aux lettres afin de prévoir que la Société canadienne des postes, lorsqu’elle exige du propriétaire d’une boîte aux lettres rurale qu'il déplace sa boîte aux lettres d’un endroit approuvé à un autre endroit, paye tous les frais associés au déplacement de celle-ci.
