SOMMAIRE
Le texte modifie la Loi sur le ministère des Travaux publics et des Services gouvernementaux afin d’exiger que le ministre puisse autoriser l’utilisation du bois ou de toute autre chose qui offre des avantages pour l’environnement dans l’élaboration des exigences relatives aux ouvrages publics.
SUMMARY
This enactment amends the Department of Public Works and Government Services Act to require that the Minister may, in developing requirements for public works, allow the use of wood or any other thing that achieves environmental benefits.

Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate and House of Commons of Canada, enacts as follows:
1 L’article 7 de la Loi sur le ministère des Travaux publics et des Services gouvernementaux est modifié par adjonction, après le paragraphe (1), de ce qui suit :
1 Section 7 of the Department of Public Works and Government Services Act is amended by adding the following after subsection (1):

(1.1) Dans Insertion start l’élaboration des exigences Insertion end visant la construction, l’entretien ou la réparation d’ouvrages publics, de biens réels fédéraux ou d’immeubles fédéraux, le ministre Insertion start tient compte de Insertion end toute réduction Insertion start potentielle Insertion end des émissions de gaz à effet de serre Insertion start et de tout autre avantage pour l’environnement et peut autoriser Insertion end l’utilisation du bois Insertion start ou de toute autre chose, notamment de matériel, de produits ou de ressources durables, qui offre pareil avantage Insertion end .
(1.1) In Insertion start developing requirements with respect Insertion end to the construction, maintenance or repair of public works, federal real property or federal immovables, the Minister shall Insertion start consider any Insertion end reduction in greenhouse gas emissions and any Insertion start other environmental benefits and may allow Insertion end the use of wood Insertion start or any other thing — including a material, product or sustainable resource — that achieves such benefits Insertion end .
