The Standing Joint Committee on the Library of Parliament met in camera at 12:01 p.m. this day, in Room 362, East Block, the Joint Chair, Royal Galipeau, presiding.

Members of the Committee present representing the Senate: The Honourable Senators Hon. Marie-P. Charette-Poulin, Hon. Nicole Eaton, Hon. Terry M. Mercer and Hon. Michel Rivard.

Members of the Committee present representing the House of Commons: Rob Clarke, Royal Galipeau, Jim Hillyer, Carol Hughes, José Nunez-Melo, Claude Patry, François Pilon, Brent Rathgeber, Terence Young and Wai Young.

Acting Members from the House of Commons present: Hon. Mauril Bélanger for Hon. Carolyn Bennett.

Associate Members from the House of Commons present: Devinder Shory.

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Marie-Ève Hudon, Analyst ; Sonya Norris, Analyst.

Witnesses: Library of Parliament: Sonia L'Heureux, Parliamentary Librarian; Lise F. Chartrand, Director, Finance and Material Management Division; Dianne Brydon, Executive Director, Integrated Client Outreach and Digital Access.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(4)(a), the Committee commenced its study of the preparatory work on the Library of Parliament's Main Estimates for 2013-2014.

The witnesses made statements and answered questions.

It was agreed, — That the Committee recommend to the Speaker of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Commons that the proposed main estimates of the Library of Parliament for 2013-2014 be accepted as presented at the meeting of December 6, 2012.

At 1:11 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
