SUMMARY

This enactment amends the Canada Post Corporation Act to

(a) re-establish roadside mail delivery service to rural mail boxes that were in service on September 1, 2005;

(b) require the Corporation to give notice to the residents affected by a proposed change to mail delivery or other postal services in rural Canada and to undertake a consultation with the residents affected by the proposed change; and

(c) provide for the appointment of a Canada Post Ombudsman.

SOMMAIRE

Le texte modifie la Loi sur la Société canadienne des postes afin :

a) de rétablir le service de livraison aux boîtes aux lettres rurales qui était offert le 1er septembre 2005;

b) d’obliger la Société à donner un préavis aux résidents touchés par toute modification qu’il est proposé d’apporter au service de livraison du courrier ou à tout autre service postal en milieu rural, ainsi qu’à tenir une consultation auprès de ces derniers;

c) de prévoir la nomination d’un ombudsman de Postes Canada.
