SUMMARY
This enactment amends the Canada Labour Code to prohibit the employment of persons under the age of 15 years, unless the employment is part of their education or training.

An Act to amend the Canada Labour Code (minimum age of employment)
R.S., c. L-2
Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate and House of Commons of Canada, enacts as follows:
1. The heading “Minimum Wages” before section 178 of the Canada Labour Code is replaced by the following:
Minimum Wages and Minimum Age of Employment
2. Section 179 of the Act is renumbered as subsection 179(1) and is amended by adding the following:
Minimum age of employment
(2) An employer may employ a person under the age of 15 years only if the employment is part of the person’s education or training in a program that has been approved by the Minister.
