SUMMARY
This enactment amends the Food and Drugs Act to prohibit the sale of prepackaged or canned food that does not indicate a durable life date.

An Act to amend the Food and Drugs Act (durable life date)
R.S., c. F-27
Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate and House of Commons of Canada, enacts as follows:
1. Section 2 of the Food and Drugs Act is amended by adding the following in alphabetical order:
“durable life date”
« date limite de conservation »
« date limite de conservation »
“durable life date” means the date on which the durable life of a prepackaged or canned product ends;
2. Section 4 of the Act is amended by striking out “or” at the end of paragraph (d), by adding “or” at the end of paragraph (e) and by adding the following after paragraph (e):
(f) if prepackaged or canned, does not indicate a durable life date.
