An Act to amend the Citizenship Act (persons born abroad)

Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate and House of Commons of Canada, enacts as follows:

1. (1) Subparagraph 3(1)(f)(iii) of the Cit- izenship Act is repealed.

1. (1) Le sous-alinéa 3(1)f)(iii) de la Loi sur la citoyenneté est abrogé.

(2) Subsections 3(3) to (5) of the Act are repealed.

(2) Les paragraphes 3(3) à (5) de la même loi sont abrogés.

2. Subsections 5(5) and (6) of the Act are repealed.

2. Les paragraphes 5(5) et (6) de la même loi sont abrogés.

3. The Act is amended by replacing the words “reasons referred to in subparagraphs (1)(f)(i) to (iii)” with the words “reasons referred to in subparagraphs (1)(f)(i) and (ii)” in the following provisions:

(a) paragraph 3(1)(i); and

(b) paragraph 3(7)(a).

3. Dans la même loi, notamment dans les passages ci-après, « motifs visés aux sous-alinéas (1)f)(i) à (iii) » est remplacé par « motifs visés aux sous-alinéas (1)f)(i) et (ii) » :

a) l'alinéa 3(1)i);

b) l'alinéa 3(7)a).
