SUMMARY |

|
The purpose of this enactment is to add to the standards necessary for
allowing the use of the national safety mark for vehicles sold in Canada.
|
|
|
|
Commencing two years after the enactment receives royal assent, for
a vehicle to qualify, it will also have to be fitted with a device that
prevents it being started without an ignition key.
|
|
|
|
This will reduce vehicle theft as it will prevent engines being
``hot-wired''.
