SUMMARY

Under this enactment, the Employment Insurance Commission shall, on application by an individual, designate as student employment any employment, whether full-time or part-time, performed in Canada by the individual

    (a) where the individual is engaged in full-time studies in a secondary school, college or university in Canada; or

    (b) during the months of May, June, July and August in a year, where the individual is enrolled or intends to be enrolled as a full-time student in a secondary school, college or university in Canada for the semester beginning in August or September of the year.

Under the enactment, a person in such employment does not have to pay premiums to the Employment Insurance Commission and receives no benefits under that Act.
