SUMMARY |

|
The purpose of this enactment is to establish the right of Canadians
to consistent, quality health services across Canada, personal rights
respecting the receipt of health services and the corresponding
responsibilities patients have in dealing with health professionals.
|
|
|
|
The Minister of Health is required to seek the commitment of the
provinces to adopting and protecting these rights and responsibilities.
Full fiscal transfers are dependant on provinces agreeing to the
principles embodied in this enactment.
