The Standing Joint Committee on the Library of Parliament met at 12:05 p.m. this day, in Room 362, East Block, for the purpose of electing Joint Chair (House of Commons), pursuant to Standing Order 106(1).

 

Members of the Committee present representing the Senate: The Honourable Senators Hon. Salma Ataullahjan, Hon. Marie-P. Charette-Poulin, Hon. Nicole Eaton and Hon. Michel Rivard.

 

Members of the Committee present representing the House of Commons: Hon. Carolyn Bennett, Rob Clarke, Royal Galipeau, Jim Hillyer, Carol Hughes, José Nunez-Melo, Claude Patry, François Pilon, Brent Rathgeber, Terence Young and Wai Young.

 

Acting Members from the House of Commons present: LaVar Payne for Rod Bruinooge.

 

In attendance: Senate: Kevin Pittman, Joint Clerk of the Committee. Library of Parliament: Marie-Ève Hudon, Analyst.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 106(2), the Joint Clerk of the Committee (House of Commons) presided over the election of a Joint Chair (House of Commons).
 

On motion of Carol Hughes, it was agreed, — That Royal Galipeau be elected Joint Chair of the Committee (House of Commons).

 
By unanimous consent, the Joint Clerk of the Committee (House of Commons) presided over the election of a Joint Chair (House of Commons).
 

On motion of Royal Galipeau, it was agreed, — That Carol Hughes be elected First Vice-Chair of the Committee.

 

On motion of Carol Hughes, it was agreed, — That Hon. Carolyn Bennett be elected Second Vice-Chair of the Committee.

 

On motion of Nicole Eaton, it was agreed, — That the Committee do now adjourn.

 

At 12:12 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
