An Act to amend the National Housing Act (payment to provinces)

Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate and House of Commons of Canada, enacts as follows:
|
|
|
|
Sa Majesté, sur l’avis et avec le consentement du Sénat et de la Chambre des communes du Canada, édicte :

1. Paragraphs 21(2)(a) to (d) of the National Housing Act are replaced by the following:
|
|
|
|
1. Les alinéas 21(2)a) à d) de la Loi nationale sur l’habitation sont remplacés par ce qui suit :
|
|
|
|
|
|
(a) the capitalization of the Corporation’s business under this Part, in accordance with the guidelines issued by the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions; and
|
|
|
(b) the payment to the provinces, in proportion to their population, of the retained earnings that exceed the amount set out in paragraph (a) for, among others, the following purposes:
|
|
|
(i) providing affordable social housing,
|
|
|
(ii) encouraging the supply of quality housing at affordable prices,
|
|
|
(iii) increasing the range of housing options, and
|
|
|
(iv) contributing to the creation and development of housing cooperatives.
|
|
|
|
a) la capitalisation des activités exercées par la Société dans le cadre de la présente partie, conformément aux lignes directrices émises par le Bureau du surintendant des institutions financières;
|
|
|
|
b) le versement aux provinces, en proportion de leur population, des bénéfices non répartis qui excèdent le montant prévu à l’alinéa a), notamment aux fins suivantes :
|
|
|
|
(i) servir au logement social abordable,
|
|
|
|
(ii) encourager l’offre de logements de qualité à prix abordable,
|
|
|
|
(iii) accroître le choix en matière d’habitation,
|
|
|
|
(iv) contribuer à la création et au développement de coopératives d’habitation.
|
