Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate and House of Commons of Canada, enacts as follows:
|
|

1. The definition “survivor”, in subsection 42(1) of the Canada Pension Plan, is amended by striking out “or” at the end of paragraph (a), by adding “or” at the end of paragraph (b), and by adding the following after paragraph (b):
|
|
|
|
1. La définition de « survivant », au paragraphe 42(1) du Régime de pensions du Canada, est modifiée par adjonction, après l’alinéa b), de ce qui suit :
|
|
|
|
|
|
(c) if there is no person who was married to the contributor or who was the contributor’s common-law partner at the time of the contributor’s death, the person whom the contributor designated as their beneficiary;
|
|
|
|
c) dans le cas où le cotisant n’a ni époux ni conjoint de fait à son décès, du bénéficiaire qu’il a désigné.
