Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate and the House of Commons of Canada, enacts as follows:
|

1. Section 24 of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act is amended by adding the following after subsection (3):
|
|
|
|
1. L’article 24 de la Loi sur l’immigration et la protection des réfugiés est modifié par adjonction, après le paragraphe (3), de ce qui suit :

|
|
Victim — trafficking in persons
|
|
(4) For the purposes of subsection (1) and despite subsection (3), where a foreign national claims to be the victim of an offence under section 118 of this Act or section 279.01 of the Criminal Code, the officer shall not take into account the foreign national's possible participation in any investigation or proceedings in respect of the offence.
|
|
|
|
(4) Pour l’application du paragraphe (1) et malgré le paragraphe (3), l’agent ne tient pas compte de la participation éventuelle de l’étranger qui prétend être victime d’une infraction visée à l’article 118 de la présente loi ou à l’article 279.01 du Code criminel à l’enquête ou à la poursuite concernant l’infraction.
