The purpose of this enactment is to make all Crown corporations and the Canadian Wheat Board subject to the Access to Information Act.

Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate and House of Commons of Canada, enacts as follows:

1. The definition “government institution” in section 3 of the Access to Information Act is replaced by the following:

1. La définition de « institution fédérale », à l’article 3 de la Loi sur l’accès à l’information, est remplacée par ce qui suit :

“government institution”
« institution fédérale »

“government institution” means any department or ministry of state of the Government of Canada listed in Schedule I, any body or office listed in Schedule I or any Crown corporation as defined in the Financial Administration Act, and includes the Canadian Wheat Board;

« institution fédérale » Tout ministère ou département d’État relevant du gouvernement du Canada, ou tout organisme, figurant à l’annexe I, ou toute société d’État au sens de la Loi sur la gestion des finances publiques. Est assimilée à une institution fédérale la Commission canadienne du blé.
