SOMMAIRE
Le texte modifie le Code criminel afin de prévoir que le meurtre d’un premier répondant est automatiquement assimilé à un meurtre au premier degré, d’augmenter la peine d’emprisonnement maximale pour voies de fait graves contre certaines personnes, dont les premiers répondants, et d’ériger en infraction le fait d’exercer des voies de fait contre un premier répondant.
SUMMARY
This enactment amends the Criminal Code to provide that the murder of a first responder is automatically first degree murder, to increase the maximum term of imprisonment for the aggravated assault of certain persons, including first responders, and to create an offence of assaulting a first responder.

1 L’article 2 du Code criminel est modifié par adjonction, selon l’ordre alphabétique, de ce qui suit :
1 Section 2 of the Criminal Code is amended by adding the following in alphabetical order:
premier répondant Personne qui est employée ou qui s’est officiellement portée volontaire pour être parmi les premiers à arriver sur les lieux d’un accident, d’un incendie ou d’une autre situation d’urgence afin de fournir une aide médicale ou des services de lutte contre les incendies.
