SOMMAIRE
Le texte modifie la Loi sur les enquêtes afin de prévoir que les commissaires chargés d’enquêtes publiques sont nommés après consultation du chef de chacun des partis reconnus à la Chambre des communes et approbation par résolution de cette chambre.
SUMMARY
This enactment amends the Inquiries Act to provide that the commissioners who conduct public inquiries must be appointed after consultation with the leader of every recognized party in the House of Commons and approval of the appointment by resolution of that House.

1 L’article 3 de la Loi sur les enquêtes est remplacé par ce qui suit :
1 Section 3 of the Inquiries Act is replaced by the following:

3 Dans le cas d’une enquête qui n’est pas régie par des dispositions législatives particulières, le gouverneur en conseil peut, par commission, nommer les commissaires qui en sont chargés, Insertion start après consultation du chef de chacun des partis reconnus à la Chambre des communes et approbation par résolution de cette chambre Insertion end .
3 Insertion start If Insertion end an inquiry as described in section 2 is not regulated by any special law, the Governor in Council may, by a commission, appoint persons as commissioners by whom the inquiry shall be conducted Insertion start after consultation with the leader of every recognized party in the House of Commons and approval of the appointment by resolution of that House Insertion end .
