SOMMAIRE
Le texte modifie la Loi sur la tarification de la pollution causée par les gaz à effet de serre afin d’élargir la définition de machinerie agricole admissible et d’inclure le gaz naturel commercialisable et le propane à l’exemption qui s’applique au combustible agricole admissible.
SUMMARY
This enactment amends the Greenhouse Gas Pollution Pricing Act to expand the definition of eligible farming machinery and extend the exemption for qualifying farming fuel to marketable natural gas and propane.

Greenhouse Gas Pollution Pricing Act
1 (1) La définition de machinerie agricole admissible, à l’article 3 de la Loi sur la tarification de la pollution causée par les gaz à effet de serre, est modifiée par adjonction, après l’alinéa b), de ce qui suit :
1 (1) The definition eligible farming machinery in section 3 of the Greenhouse Gas Pollution Pricing Act is amended by adding the following after paragraph (b):
-
b.1) soit un bien qui sert au chauffage ou au refroidissement d’un bâtiment ou d’une structure semblable utilisés pour l’élevage ou le logement d’animaux de ferme Insertion start ou pour la culture de végétaux Insertion end ;
-
(b.1) property used for the purpose of providing heating or cooling to a building or similar structure used for raising or housing livestock Insertion start or for growing crops Insertion end ;
(1.1) L’alinéa b.1) de la définition de machinerie agricole admissible, à l’article 3 de la même loi, est abrogé.

(2) Paragraph (c) of the definition eligible farming machinery in section 3 of the Act is replaced by the following:

(c) an industrial machine or a stationary or portable engine, including a grain dryer; or

(2.1) Paragraph (c) of the definition eligible farming machinery in section 3 of the Act is replaced by the following:

(3) The definition eligible farming machinery in section 3 of the Act is amended by adding “or” at the end of paragraph (e) and by repealing paragraph (f).

(3.1) The definition eligible farming machinery in section 3 of the Act is amended by striking out “or” at the end of paragraph (e) and by adding the following after that paragraph:

Eighth anniversary or postponement
2 (1) Les paragraphes (1.1), (2.1), (3.1) et (5) entrent en vigueur à la date du huitième anniversaire de l’entrée en vigueur de la présente loi, sauf si, avant cette date, l’entrée en vigueur de ces dispositions est prorogée par résolution — dont le texte est établi au titre du paragraphe (2) — adoptée par les deux chambres du Parlement en conformité avec le paragraphe (3).
End of inserted block2 (1) Subsections (1.1), (2.1), (3.1) and (5) come into force on the day that is the 8th anniversary of the day on which this Act comes into force, unless, before that day, their coming into force is postponed by a resolution — whose text is established under subsection (2) — passed by both Houses of Parliament in accordance with the rules set out in subsection (3).

End of inserted block(2) The Governor in Council may, by order, establish the text of a resolution providing for the postponement and specifying the period of the postponement.

(3) La motion visant l’adoption de la résolution peut faire l’objet d’un débat dans les deux chambres du Parlement. Au terme du débat, le président de la chambre du Parlement met immédiatement aux voix toute question nécessaire pour décider de son agrément.
End of inserted block(3) A motion for the adoption of the resolution may be debated in both Houses of Parliament. At the conclusion of the debate, the Speaker of the House of Parliament must immediately put to a vote every question that is necessary to determine whether or not the motion is concurred in.

(4) L’entrée en vigueur des dispositions visées au paragraphe (1) peut être de nouveau prorogée en conformité avec le présent article, la mention « à la date du huitième anniversaire de l’entrée en vigueur de la présente loi » à ce paragraphe valant alors mention de « à la date d’expiration de la dernière prorogation adoptée conformément au présent article ».
End of inserted block(4) The postponement may be further extended in accordance with the procedure set out in this section, but the reference to “the day that is the 8th anniversary of the day on which this Act comes into force” in subsection (1) is to be read as “the day on which the most recent postponement under this section expires”.
