SOMMAIRE
Le texte modifie la Loi sur la citoyenneté afin de prévoir la possibilité de recouvrer la citoyenneté canadienne pour certaines personnes qui l’ont perdue.
SUMMARY
This enactment amends the Citizenship Act to permit certain persons who lost their Canadian citizenship to regain it.

1 (1) Le sous-alinéa 3(1)f)(iii) de la Loi sur la citoyenneté est remplacé par ce qui suit :
1 (1) Subparagraph 3(1)(f)(iii) of the Citizenship Act is replaced by the following:
-
(iii) elle a présenté la demande visée à l’article 8, dans ses versions antérieures au 17 avril 2009, pour conserver sa citoyenneté et cette demande a été rejetée;
-
(iii) the person made an application to retain his or her citizenship under section 8 as it read before April 17, 2009, that subsequently was not approved;
(2) Le paragraphe 3(1) de la même loi est modifié par adjonction, après l’alinéa g), de ce qui suit :
(2) Subsection 3(1) of the Act is amended by adding the following after paragraph (g):
-
g.1) qui, née à l’étranger après le 14 février 1977, aurait qualité de citoyen si elle avait présenté la demande visée à l’article 8, dans ses versions antérieures au 17 avril 2009;
-
(g.1) the person was born outside Canada after February 14, 1977, and would be a citizen if he or she had made an application to retain his or her citizenship under section 8, as it read before April 17, 2009;
(3) Les paragraphes 3(4) et (4.1) de la même loi sont remplacés par ce qui suit :
(3) Subsections 3(4) and (4.1) of the Act are replaced by the following:

(4) Le paragraphe (3) ne s’applique pas à la personne qui avait qualité de citoyen le 11 juin 2015.
(4) Subsection (3) does not apply to a person who was a citizen on June 11, 2015.
2 Le sous-alinéa 27(1)j.1)(i) de la même loi est remplacé par ce qui suit :
2 Subparagraph 27(1)(j.1)(i) of the Act is replaced by the following:

(i) a qualité de citoyen au titre des alinéas 3(1)f), g) ou g.1),

(i) who are citizens under paragraph 3(1)(f), (g) or (g.1),
