SOMMAIRE
Le texte modifie la Loi sur la responsabilité en matière d’aide au développement officielle afin d’ajouter des critères devant être satisfaits concernant l’aide au développement officielle fournie à l’étranger par le gouvernement du Canada.
SUMMARY
This enactment amends the Official Development Assistance Accountability Act to add to the criteria to be met in respect of the provision of official international development assistance abroad by the Government of Canada.

Official Development Assistance Accountability Act
1 Le paragraphe 4(1) de la Loi sur la responsabilité en matière d’aide au développement officielle est modifié par adjonction, après l’alinéa c), de ce qui suit :
1 Subsection 4(1) of the Official Development Assistance Accountability Act is amended by striking out “and” at the end of paragraph (b) and by adding the following after paragraph (c):

d) ne favorise pas les intérêts d’un gouvernement étranger qui a détenu arbitrairement un citoyen canadien ou un résident permanent au sens du paragraphe 2(1) de la Loi sur l’immigration et la protection des réfugiés ou qui a commis un crime contre l’humanité, un crime de guerre ou un génocide au sens des paragraphes 6(3) à (5) de la Loi sur les crimes contre l’humanité et les crimes de guerre;

e) est compatible avec les efforts déployés par le Canada pour promouvoir la paix et la sécurité internationales.

(d) does not promote the interests of a foreign government that has arbitrarily detained a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident within the meaning of subsection 2(1) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act or has engaged in a crime against humanity, genocide or a war crime within the meaning of subsections 6(3) to (5) of the Crimes Against Humanity and War Crimes Act; and
-
(e) is consistent with Canada’s efforts to promote international peace and security.
