SOMMAIRE
Le texte modifie la Loi électorale du Canada pour abaisser de dix-huit à seize ans l’âge requis pour voter aux élections fédérales.
SUMMARY
This enactment amends the Canada Elections Act to lower the federal voting age in Canada from 18 to 16 years of age.

Canada Elections Act
1 La définition de futur électeur, au paragraphe 2(1) de la Loi électorale du Canada, est remplacée par ce qui suit :
1 The definition future elector in subsection 2(1) of the Canada Elections Act is replaced by the following:
futur électeur Citoyen canadien âgé de quatorze ans ou plus, mais de moins de Insertion start seize Insertion end ans. (future elector)
future elector means a Canadian citizen who is 14 years of age or older but under Insertion start 16 Insertion end years of age. (futur électeur)
2 L’article 3 de la même loi est remplacé par ce qui suit :
2 Section 3 of the Act is replaced by the following:
Personnes qui ont qualité d’électeur
Persons qualified as electors
3 A qualité d’électeur toute personne qui, le jour du scrutin, est citoyen canadien et a atteint l’âge de Insertion start seize Insertion end ans.
3 Every person who is a Canadian citizen and is Insertion start 16 Insertion end years of age or older on polling day is qualified as an elector.
3 Le paragraphe 22(5) de la même loi est abrogé.
3 Subsection 22(5) of the Act is repealed.
4 (1) Le sous-alinéa 281.3a)(ii) de la même loi est remplacé par ce qui suit :
4 (1) Subparagraph 281.3(a)(ii) of the Act is replaced by the following:

(ii) qu’elle n’a pas ou n’aura pas atteint l’âge de Insertion start seize Insertion end ans le jour du scrutin;
-
(ii) is not Insertion start 16 Insertion end years of age or older — or will not be Insertion start 16 Insertion end years of age or older — on polling day; or
(2) Le sous-alinéa 281.3b)(ii) de la même loi est remplacé par ce qui suit :

5 L’alinéa 549.1(1)b) de la même loi est remplacé par ce qui suit :
