SOMMAIRE
Le texte modifie l’alinéa 207(4)b) du Code criminel afin de légaliser la mise sur pied et l’exploitation dans une province, par le gouvernement de cette province ou par une personne ou une entité titulaire d’une licence délivrée par le lieutenant-gouverneur en conseil de la province, d’une loterie prévoyant des paris sur une course — autre qu’une course de chevaux — ou un combat ou sur une épreuve ou une manifestation sportive.
SUMMARY
This enactment amends paragraph 207(4)(b) of the Criminal Code to make it lawful for the government of a province, or a person or entity licensed by the Lieutenant Governor in Council of that province, to conduct and manage a lottery scheme in the province that involves betting on a race — other than a horse-race — or fight, or on a single sport event or athletic contest.
