SUMMARY
This enactment amends the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board Act to specify that the investment policies, standards and procedures established by the board of directors shall provide that no investment may be made or held in any entity that has engaged in certain practices.

Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate and House of Commons of Canada, enacts as follows:

Canada Pension Plan Investment Board Act
1 Section 35 of the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board Act is renumbered as subsection 35(1) and is amended by adding the following:

Start of inserted block(2) The investment policies, standards and procedures shall provide that no investment may be made or held in any entity that has performed acts or carried out work contrary to ethical business practices or has committed human, labour or environmental rights violations.

Subsection 114(4) of the Canada Pension Plan
2 Section 1 of this Act comes into force in accordance with subsection 114(4) of the Canada Pension Plan.
