SOMMAIRE
Le texte modifie la Loi sur la citoyenneté afin d’ajouter à l’obtention de la citoyenneté par les résidents permanents qui résident habituellement au Québec l’exigence de la connaissance suffisante de la langue française.
SUMMARY
This enactment amends the Citizenship Act to require that permanent residents who ordinarily reside in Quebec must have an adequate knowledge of French in order to obtain citizenship.

1 (1) Les alinéas 5(1)d) et e) de la Loi sur la citoyenneté sont remplacés par ce qui suit :
1 (1) Paragraphs 5(1)(d) and (e) of the Citizenship Act are replaced by the following:

d) si elle a moins de Insertion start 65 Insertion end ans à la date de sa demande, a une connaissance suffisante :

(i) soit de la langue française, dans le cas où elle réside habituellement au Québec,

(2) Le paragraphe 5(2) de la même loi est modifié par adjonction, après l’alinéa b), de ce qui suit :
(2) Subsection 5(2) of the Act is amended by striking out “and” at the end of paragraph (a), by adding “and” at the end of paragraph (b) and by adding the following after paragraph (b):
