SOMMAIRE
Le texte modifie certaines exigences de la Loi sur l’étiquetage des textiles relativement à la peau, aux poils et à la fourrure de certaines espèces d’animaux.
SUMMARY
This enactment amends the Textile Labelling Act to modify requirements in respect of skin, hair and fur of certain species of animal.

Textile Labelling Act
1 La définition de fibre textile, à l’article 2 de la Loi sur l’étiquetage des textiles, est remplacée par ce qui suit :
1 The definition textile fibre in section 2 of the Textile Labelling Act is replaced by the following:
fibre textile Substance naturelle ou artificielle susceptible d’être filée ou tissée, y compris les cheveux, le kapok, les plumes et le duvet, ainsi que Insertion start la peau Insertion end d’un animal Insertion start et ses Insertion end poils Insertion start et sa Insertion end fourrure, Insertion start qu’ils soient séparés ou non Insertion end de la peau. (textile fibre)
textile fibre means any natural or manufactured matter that is capable of being made into a yarn or fabric and, without limiting the generality of the foregoing, includes human hair, kapok, feathers and down, and Insertion start animal skin as well as Insertion end animal hair Insertion start and Insertion end fur, Insertion start whether or not they have Insertion end been removed from Insertion start the Insertion end animal skin; (fibre textile)
2 L’article 6 de la même loi devient le paragraphe 6(1) et est modifié par adjonction de ce qui suit :
2 Section 6 of the Act is renumbered as subsection 6(1) and is amended by adding the following:

(2) Malgré le sous-alinéa (1)b)(i), s’agissant d’un article qui contient de la peau de felis catus ou de canis lupus familiaris ou des poils ou de la fourrure non séparés de la peau d’animaux de ces espèces, l’étiquette indique le nom générique de cette fibre textile, indépendamment du pourcentage de la masse totale des fibres de l’article que cette fibre représente.
End of inserted block(2) Despite subparagraph (1)(b)(i), in the case of an article that contains felis catus or canis lupus familiaris skin or hair or fur not removed from the skin of those species, the label shall show the generic name of that textile fibre, regardless of the percentage of the total fibre mass of the article that it constitutes.
