SOMMAIRE
Le texte modifie la Loi sur les conflits d’intérêts afin, d’une part, de préciser que certaines contributions sont des cadeaux ou autres avantages et, d’autre part, d’interdire aux titulaires de charge publique d’accorder un traitement de faveur à une personne ou un organisme en échange d’un cadeau ou autre avantage ou d’accepter un cadeau ou autre avantage en échange d’une rencontre en tête à tête. Il interdit également aux titulaires de charge publique de solliciter indirectement des fonds d’une personne ou d’un organisme dans certaines situations.
SUMMARY
This enactment amends the Conflict of Interest Act to specify that certain contributions are gifts or other advantages and to prohibit public office holders from giving preferential treatment to a person or organization in exchange for a gift or other advantage or from accepting a gift or other advantage in exchange for a face-to-face meeting. It also prohibits public office holders from soliciting funds indirectly from a person or organization in certain circumstances.

Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate and House of Commons of Canada, enacts as follows:
1 L’alinéa a) de la définition de cadeau ou autre avantage, au paragraphe 2(1) de la Loi sur les conflits d’intérêts, est remplacé par ce qui suit :
1 Paragraph (a) of the definition gift or other advantage in subsection 2(1) of the Conflict of Interest Act is replaced by the following:
-
