An Act to amend the Auditor General Act (obstruction)
R.S., c. A-17
Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate and House of Commons of Canada, enacts as follows:
1. The Auditor General Act is amended by adding the following after section 14:
OFFENCE
Obstruction
14.1 (1) No person shall obstruct the Auditor General in the performance of his or her powers and functions under this Act.
Offence and punishment
(2) Every person who knowingly contravenes this section or who fails to provide information requested by the Auditor General is guilty of an offence punishable on summary conviction and liable to a fine not exceeding $10,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding six months, or to both.
