SUMMARY
This enactment amends the Old Age Security Act to provide that a pensioner’s guaranteed income supplement may not be reduced solely as a result of an increase in the pensioner’s income caused by an increase in the pensioner’s pension under the Canada Pension Plan that is solely the result of the indexation of that pension.

R.S., c. O-9
Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate and House of Commons of Canada, enacts as follows:
1. The Old Age Security Act is amended by adding the following after section 12.1:
Restriction on reduction of supplement
12.2 Notwithstanding any other provision of this Act, the amount of a supplement that is payable to a pensioner under this Part may not be reduced solely as a result of an increase in the pensioner’s income caused by an increase in the pensioner’s pension under the Canada Pension Plan that is solely the result of the indexation of that pension.
