SUMMARY
This enactment amends the Canadian Bill of Rights to include the right to proper housing, at a reasonable cost and free of unreasonable barriers.

An Act to amend the Canadian Bill of Rights (right to housing)
Preamble
Whereas the Parliament of Canada recognizes the dignity and worth of all individuals and acknowledges that individuals have the right to enjoy the security and benefits provided by proper housing;
And whereas continued access to proper housing, free of unreasonable financial or other barriers, is necessary to ensure that right;

Now, therefore, Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate and House of Commons of Canada, enacts as follows:
1. Section 1 of the Canadian Bill of Rights is amended by adding the following after paragraph (b):
(b.1) the right of the individual to proper housing, at a reasonable cost and free of unreasonable barriers;
