SUMMARY
This enactment amends the Textile Labelling Act to ensure that the label on every consumer textile article discloses the name and address of the factory in which the article was manufactured or made.

An Act to amend the Textile Labelling Act
R.S., c. T-10
Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate and House of Commons of Canada, enacts as follows:
1. Paragraphs 3(a) and (b) of the Textile Labelling Act are replaced by the following:
(a) a prescribed consumer textile article unless the article has applied to it a label containing
(i) a representation with respect to the textile fibre content of the article, and
(ii) a representation with respect to the name and address of the factory in which the consumer textile article was manufac- tured or made; or
(b) any consumer textile article that has applied to it a label containing a represen- tation with respect to the textile fibre content of the article and a representation with respect to the name and address of the factory in which the consumer textile article was manufactured or made, unless the label is applied to it in accordance with and complies with all applicable provisions of this Act.
2. Paragraph 6(b) of the Act is amended by striking out “and” at the end of subparagraph (iii) and by adding the following after subparagraph (iii):
(iii.1) the name and address of the factory in which the consumer textile article was manufactured or made, and
