SUMMARY
This enactment amends the Citizenship Act to establish that provisions of the Act relating to the oath of citizenship operate notwithstanding sections 2 and 15 of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.

An Act to amend the Citizenship Act (oath of citizenship)
Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate and House of Commons of Canada, enacts as follows:
R.S., c. C-29
CITIZENSHIP ACT
1. The Citizenship Act is amended by adding the following after section 2:
OPERATION OF ACT
Provisions relating to oath of citizenship
2.1 The provisions of this Act relating to the taking of the oath of citizenship and the form of that oath operate notwithstanding sections 2 and 15 of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
