SUMMARY
This enactment amends the Competition Act to authorize the Commissioner of Competition to inquire into an entire industry sector.

An Act to amend the Competition Act (inquiry into industry sector)

Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate and House of Commons of Canada, enacts as follows:
Sa Majesté, sur l’avis et avec le consentement du Sénat et de la Chambre des communes du Canada, édicte :
L.R., ch. C-34; L.R., ch. 19 (2e suppl.), art. 19
1. Paragraph 10(1)(b) of the Competition Act is amended by striking out “or” at the end of subparagraph (ii) and by adding the following after subparagraph (iii):
1. L'alinéa 10(1)b) de la Loi sur la concurrence est modifié par adjonction, après le sous-alinéa (iii), de ce qui suit :
(iv) grounds exist for the making of an inquiry into an entire industry sector, or
(iv) soit qu’il existe des motifs justifiant une enquête sur un secteur de l’industrie dans son ensemble;
