SUMMARY
This enactment provides that the Canada Post Corporation shall, while maintaining basic customary postal service, continue to provide rural residential mail delivery.
It also requires the Governor in Council to amend the Mail Receptacles Regulations to provide that the Canada Post Corporation be responsible for the cost of relocating a rural mail box when the Corporation requires that the mail box be moved from a previously approved location.

An Act to amend the Canada Post Corporation Act (rural mail delivery)
Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate and House of Commons of Canada, enacts as follows:

CANADA POST CORPORATION ACT
1. The portion of subsection 5(2) of the Canada Post Corporation Act before paragraph (a) is replaced by the following:

(2) While maintaining basic customary postal service, including rural residential mail delivery, the Corporation, in carrying out its objects, shall have regard to

2. (1) The following definitions apply in this section.
“approved location”, in respect of a rural mail box, means a location for the mail box that has been approved by the local postmaster in accordance with paragraph 15(b) of the Mail Receptacles Regulations.
“rural mail box” has the same meaning as in section 2 of the Mail Receptacles Regulations.
(2) The Governor in Council shall, within 60 days after this Act comes into force, amend the Mail Receptacles Regulations to provide that, if the Canada Post Corporation requires the owner of a rural mail box that is situated at an approved location to move the mail box to a different location, the Canada Post Corporation shall pay all the expenses associated with moving the mail box.
