SUMMARY
This enactment amends the Official Languages Act to extend the duty to understand the official languages to the judges of the Supreme Court of Canada.

R.S., c. 31 (4th Supp.)
Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate and House of Commons of Canada, enacts as follows:
1. The portion of subsection 16(1) of the Official Languages Act before paragraph (a) is replaced by the following:
Duty to ensure understanding without an interpreter
16. (1) Every federal court, including the Supreme Court of Canada, has the duty to ensure that
