An Act to establish Pierre Elliott Trudeau Day
WHEREAS the Parliament of Canada wishes to recognize the contribution of Pierre Elliott Trudeau to Canadian society and to express Canada’s appreciation for that contribution;
NOW, THEREFORE, Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate and House of Commons of Canada, enacts as follows:
SHORT TITLE
Short title
1. This Act may be cited as the Pierre Elliott Trudeau Day Act.
PIERRE ELLIOTT TRUDEAU DAY
Pierre Elliott Trudeau Day
2. Throughout Canada, in each and every year, October 18 shall be known as “Pierre Elliott Trudeau Day” in recognition of the contribution made by Pierre Elliott Trudeau to Canadian society.
Not a legal holiday
3. For greater certainty, Pierre Elliott Trudeau Day is not a legal holiday or a non-juridical day.
