An Act to prohibit the use of bisphenol A (BPA) in certain products and to amend the Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999
Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate and House of Commons of Canada, enacts as follows:
SHORT TITLE
Short title
1. This Act may be cited as the Bisphenol A (BPA) Control Act.
INTERPRETATION
Definition of “Minister”
2. In this Act, “Minister” means the Minister of the Environment.
REGULATIONS
Regulations
3. The Minister shall, within 12 months after the day on which this Act comes into force, make regulations prohibiting the use of bisphenol A (BPA) with respect to
(a) food and drink packaging, including food cans, beverage cans, bottle tops and plastic containers for beverages, including bottled water;
(b) products designed to feed infants, including feeding bottles, sippy cups and other similar products;
(c) reusable water bottles sold for hiking and other recreational outdoor uses and reusable food containers;
(d) dental polymers, including dental sealants; and
(e) water supply pipes.

4. Schedule 1 to the Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999 is amended by adding the following in numerical order:
