SUMMARY

This enactment is the second in a series of enactments drafted in the course of the harmonization initiation of the Department of Justice of Canada undertaken as a result of the coming into force of the Civil Code of Québec in 1994, which substantially changed the concepts, institutions and terminology of civil law.

It continues and completes the harmonization, with the civil law of the Province of Quebec, of some of the statutes that were partially harmonized by the first harmonization Act (Federal Law–Civil Law Harmonization Act, No. 1, S.C. 2001, c. 4) and of certain other statutes.

Le texte est le deuxième d’une série de textes rédigés dans le cadre de la démarche d’harmonisation du ministère de la Justice du Canada entreprise par suite de l’entrée en vigueur en 1994 du Code civil du Québec, qui modifie substantiellement les concepts, les institutions et la terminologie du droit civil.

Il poursuit et complète l’harmonisation, avec le droit civil de la province de Québec, de certaines lois qui avaient été partiellement harmonisées par la première loi d’harmonisation (Loi d’harmonisation n^o 1 du droit fédéral avec le droit civil, L.C. 2001, ch. 4) et harmonise quelques autres lois.
