Sommaire

This enactment amends the Criminal Code to add the murder of a firefighter acting in the course of his duties to the list of offences that constitute first degree murder.

Le texte modifie le Code criminel de façon à ajouter à la liste des infractions constituant un meurtre au premier degré le meurtre d’un pompier dans l’exercice de ses fonctions.

Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate and House of Commons of Canada, enacts as follows:

Sa Majesté, sur l’avis et avec le consentement du Sénat et de la Chambre des communes du Canada, édicte :

1. Subsection 231(4) of the Criminal Code is amended by striking out the word “or” at the end of paragraph (b), by adding the word “or” at the end of paragraph (c) and by adding the following after paragraph (c):

(d) a firefighter acting in the course of his duties.
