Sommaire

This enactment expands the scope of section 270.1 of the Criminal Code to provide that anyone who wilfully interferes with the protective equipment of a peace officer while the officer is engaged in the execution of his or her duties is guilty of an offence.

Le texte élargit la portée de l’article 270.1 du Code criminel afin que quiconque dérange volontairement le matériel de protection d’un agent de la paix agissant dans l’exercice de ses fonctions soit coupable d’une infraction.

Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate and House of Commons of Canada, enacts as follows:

1. Subsection 270.1(1) of the Criminal Code is replaced by the following:

1. Le paragraphe 270.1(1) du Code criminel est remplacé par ce qui suit :

Interfering with the equipment of or disarming a peace officer

270.1 (1) Every one commits an offence who, without the consent of a peace officer, takes or attempts to take a weapon that is in the possession of the peace officer or wilfully interferes with any protective equipment of the peace officer when the peace officer is engaged in the execution of his or her duties.

270.1 (1) Commet une infraction quiconque, sans le consentement d’un agent de la paix agissant dans l’exercice de ses fonctions, prend ou tente de prendre une arme en la possession de celui-ci ou dérange volontairement son matériel de protection.
