An Act to amend the Canada Transportation
Act
|

1996, c. 10
|
|
|
|
1. Subsection 27(2) of the Canada
Transportation Act is replaced by the
following:
|
|
Limitation
|
(2) Where an application is made to the
Agency by a shipper in respect of a
transportation rate or service, the Agency
shall grant the relief sought, in whole or in
part, unless a person opposing the application
proves that it is not in the public interest to
grant the relief.
|
|
|
2. The Act is amended by adding the
following after section 116:
|
|
Application
|
116.1 For greater certainty, sections 112 to
116 apply to all railway companies that have
been granted running rights on any portion of
a railway.
