of the Statutes of Canada, 2002, and this
Act,

person'' « adolescent »

``young person'' has the same meaning as in
subsection 2(1) of the Youth Criminal
Justice Act.
|
|
|
|
|
Interpretation
|
(2) For the purpose of this section and
sections 490.03 to 490.09, ``person'' includes
a young person, if the young person is liable to
an adult sentence for the offence in question.

25. If Bill C-20, introduced in the 2nd
Session of the 37th Parliament and entitled
An Act to amend the Criminal Code
(protection of children and other vulnerable
persons) and the Canada Evidence Act (the
``other Act''), receives royal assent, then, on
the later of the coming into force of section
6 of the other Act and the coming into force
of this Act, subparagraph (b)(i) of the
definition ``designated offence'' in
subsection 490.02(1) of the Criminal Code is
replaced by the following:

26. This Act comes into force on a day to
be fixed by order of the Governor in
