Replacement of ``Citizenship Act'' with ``Citizenship of Canada Act''

71. A reference to ``Citizenship Act'' is replaced by a reference to ``Citizenship of Canada Act'' in the following provisions:

    (a) the fifth paragraph of the preamble of the Canadian Multiculturalism Act;

    (b) in the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act,

      (i) subsection 19(1), and

      (ii) paragraph 45(a);

    (c) subsection 2(1) of the Oaths of Allegiance Act;

    (d) the definition ``Canadian'' in section 2 of the Special Economic Measures Act; and

    (e) the definition ``Canadian offender'' in section 2 of the Transfer of Offenders Act.

Coordinating Amendments

72. On the later of the coming into force of sections 1 and 2 of the Canada Shipping Act, 2001 and section 74 of this Act,

    (a) paragraph 2(2)(a) of this Act is replaced by the following:

    (a) a person born on a Canadian vessel, as defined in section 2 of the Canada Shipping Act, 2001, or on a Canadian aircraft, as defined in subsection 3(1) of the Aeronautics Act, is deemed to be born in Canada;

    (b) paragraph 53(b) of this Act is replaced by the following:

    (b) qualify any person to be the owner of a Canadian vessel;

73. (1) On the later of the coming into force of section 14 of the Courts Administration Service Act, being chapter 8 of the Statutes of Canada, 2002 (referred to in this section as the ``other Act''), and subsection 18(4) of this Act, subsection 18(4) of this Act is replaced by the following:

(4) The Minister shall, without delay, inform the person who is the subject of the order that the order has been made and advise them of their right to apply for judicial review under section 18.1 of the Federal Courts Act.

(2) On the later of the coming into force of section 14 of the other Act and subsection 29(2) of this Act, subsection 29(2) of this Act is replaced by the following:

Information on examination

(2) If the Minister determines that an application does not comply with the applicable provisions of this Act, the Minister shall, without delay, inform the applicant of that determination and advise them of their right to apply for judicial review under section 18.1 of the Federal Courts Act.

(3) If section 65 of this Act comes into force after section 14 of the other Act, the reference to ``Federal Court Act'' in section 65 and the heading before it is changed to ``Federal Courts Act''.

(4) If section 65 of this Act comes into force before section 30 of the other Act, then, on the coming into force of section 65 of this Act, section 30 of the other Act is repealed.

(5) If section 65 of this Act comes into force on the same day as section 30 of the other Act, then section 65 of this Act is deemed to have come into force before section 30 of the other Act and subsection (3) applies.

74. The Citizenship Act is repealed.

75. The provisions of this Act, other than subsection 55(5) and sections 72 and 73, and the provisions of any other Act that are enacted by this Act, come into force on a day or days to be fixed by order of the Governor in Council.
