SUMMARY |
|
|
The purpose of this enactment is to amend the Canada
Transportation Act in order to make it more difficult for adults and
non-custodial parents to abduct children by means of air transportation.
The legislation is also aimed at reducing the incidence of child
abduction and kidnapping in Canada, by requiring all adult passengers
travelling with young persons to produce written proof of the consent
of their parents or of other persons who have lawful custody over them.
