An Act to amend the Divorce Act (limits on
rights of child access by sex offenders)

Short title
|
1. This Act may be cited as Lisa's Law.
|
|
R.S., 1985 c. 3
(2nd Supp.)

2. Section 16 of the Divorce Act is
amended by adding the following after
subsection (9):
|
|
Persons
imprisoned
for sexual
offences
|
(9.1) An order made under this section is
deemed to contain a provision that, unless the
spouse or former spouse who has custody
consents otherwise, any right of access to the
child granted to the other spouse or former
spouse is suspended during any time the other
spouse or former spouse is serving a term of
imprisonment for an offence
|
