An Act to amend the Canadian Bill of Rights
(right to literacy)

Preamble
|
Whereas the Parliament of Canada
recognizes the dignity and worth of all
individuals and acknowledges that
individuals have the right to enjoy the
opportunities and benefits provided only
through literacy;
|
|
|
And Whereas the provision of literacy
training, free of unreasonable financial or
other barriers, is necessary to ensure that right;
|
|

Now, Therefore, Her Majesty, by and with
the advice and consent of the Senate and
House of Commons of Canada, enacts as
follows:
|
|
|
|
|
|
1. Section 1 of the Canadian Bill of Rights
is amended by adding the following after
paragraph (b):
