An Act respecting Terry Fox Day
|
|
| Preamble
|
Whereas Terry Fox showed courage and
determination in his fight against cancer;
|
|
|
|
And Whereas the people of Canada wish to
honour Terry Fox and to recognize his
contribution to Canadian life; and
|
|
|
|
Now, Therefore, Her Majesty, by and with the
advice and consent of the Senate and House of
Commons of Canada, enacts as follows:
|

|
|
|
|
|
|
SHORT TITLE |
|
| Short title
|
1. This Act may be cited as the Terry Fox
Day Act.
|
|
|
|
TERRY FOX DAY |
|
| Terry Fox
Day
|
2. Throughout Canada, in each and every
year, the second Sunday after Labour Day
shall be known under the name of ``Terry Fox
Day''.
