SUMMARY |

This enactment amends the Criminal Code and designates several
offences under the Immigration Act as proceeds of crime offences. The
offences so designated concern persons who induce, encourage, aid or
organize the unlawful entry of persons into Canada.
|

|
|
Under the Criminal Code, where an offender has been convicted of
an enterprise crime offence and the court imposing sentence on the
offender, on application of the Attorney General, is satisfied that any
property is proceeds of crime and that the enterprise crime offence was
committed in relation to that property, the court shall order that the
property be forfeited to Her Majesty.
